Tips to Prevent Email Viruses and SPAM - Tips on how you can prevent email viruses and reduce the amount of SPAM you receive.


Anti-virus Software

LAUSD has licensed Norton Anti-Virus Corporate edition for use on District computers. To install this software on your District computer, choose your Operating System version from the list below:

Note: Always uninstall any previous version of anti-virus software on both your Windows or Mac OS computer before installing a new one.

Windows OS - Note: Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus software is available for use on Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system. However, the Information Technology Division has not officially approved Windows Vista for use on the District's network. Any problems resulting from the use of Symantec Endpoint Protection anti-virus on Windows Vista is not supported by the ITD.

Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/7 - Automatic Installation. (No introduction screen will be seen)

For 32-Bit (x86) OS Systems not Running SSIS
For 32-Bit (x86) OS Systems Running SSIS
For 64-Bit (x64) OS Systems not Running SSIS
For 64-Bit (x64) OS Systems Running SSIS

Mac OS -

Apple Macintosh OS X (10.6, 10.5, & 10.4)

Software Installation Guides

Attention: SSIS Users and Administrators. Do not install this updated version of Symantec Anti-virus on workstations used for Report Card printing and have TI-810 or 880 printers attached. Also, schools should not install this software on their SSIS server. To have this software installed by an ITD technician on these computers, please contact the ITD Service Desk at 213-241-5200 or use our Customer Self-Service link to the left.
